College offers online-only freelance journalism training course
October 30 2009
A journalism training college has launched a new online-only freelance journalism training course.
Oxford-based British College of Journalism is offering its Professional Freelance Journalism course solely by distance learning over 12 or 24 weeks. The first course, costing £410 or £395 if paid in full, starts on November 12 and leads to a diploma.
The college says on its website: "The Professional Freelance Journalism Course is designed to get you published as quickly as possible. From your first assignments, you are developing your own story ideas, editing them from first draft to finished copy, and submitting them to newspapers and magazines.
"The Course is not only structured to teach you the techniques of freelance journalism. It's also intended to get you published and paid for your efforts. Stated simply, you'll know how to write and sell a vast range of subject matter to the thousands of newspapers and magazines that buy freelance material."
The college says it guarantees students will see their work published and guarantees they will receive their course fees back from their first three paid articles or it will refund the difference.
